Child Therapy in California & Other Specialties
Online Therapy in California Designed for Your Family
Finding high-quality, personalized online therapy in California can feel overwhelming. With so many options available, it’s hard to know where to turn. Larger online therapy platforms are often overloaded, with overworked therapists struggling to manage impossible caseloads. This means you may end up feeling like just another number, rather than receiving the focused, tailored care you need.
That’s where my practice stands apart. As a boutique-style online private practice, I’m able to dedicate the time and attention each client deserves — both during and between sessions. I specialize in hard-to-find therapies that work well in the virtual environment, such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, my expertise in online chronic illness therapy and diabetes therapy ensures you have access to specialized care, even if experts aren’t available in your local area.
Most of my practice serves families right here in California, but as a PSYPACT authorized provider, I also offer therapy to families in 40+ states. This means your therapy is travel-proof, move-proof, and vacation-proof, helping you stay on track to reach your goals without interruptions, no matter where life takes you
How California Made Me The Psychologist I Am Today
I have a special spot in my heart dedicated to California. I trained and worked as a child psychologist there, and lived all over the Golden State in my 20s to 30s. By building a career and serving local communities in the San Francisco Bay and Peninsula areas, as well as Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties, I keep positive relationships with children’s hospitals across the state, and understand the lifestyles of families who live there.
Northern California
During my internship and post-doctoral fellowship to become a child psychologist at Stanford, I came to love Palo Alto and the surrounding areas. With weekends hiking in Castle Rock State Park and beach trips down to Santa Cruz, I made the most of how much there was to do there. But on work days, I also became familiar with US 101 traffic and unexpected delays on I 280 that made getting from San Mateo County to Santa Clara County a hassle. It can be hard to make it from school pick-up in Los Altos to an appointment across town in Menlo Park before clinics close! With current research on the effectiveness of online PCIT, families in the Peninsula can now make the most of their time through virtual sessions without trying to make it there and back in rush hour traffic.
In my position at University of California San Francisco (UCSF), I saw families from all over the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond – from Lake Tahoe to San Luis Obispo, from Sacramento to Fresno. Children with complex medical or developmental needs would drive from hours away to see their doctors at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, and I was able to offer online therapy appointments to support them between visits. Even more local families in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Mill Valley appreciated virtual therapy options to spend more time with their families. No one needs more time in the car with their kids in Golden Gate or Bay Bridge traffic!
Southern California
When I moved to SoCal, I had the pleasure of learning a whole new landscape of communities in Orange County. Through my work at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), I had the opportunity to work with families from Long Beach to Anaheim, Santa Ana, and Irvine. I piloted new child therapy clinics in Newport Beach where I served families from Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, and more. Then, I opened my private practice just up the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Huntington Beach.
My time in Orange County allowed me to connect with clients and other child psychologists in Los Angeles, too -- from Pasadena to West Hollywood to Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach. My relationships with colleagues in San Diego have also allowed me to support clients in La Jolla, Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Solana Beach, and Carmel Valley.
